Day 1
 1 st April - Airport / Dunagaha / Horakelle

Starting your holidays never can better than by this estate. Not a hotel, more a B & B plus. Nice rooms; big, clean, good ac, and silence! Have a dive in the swimming pool and just enjoy the estate and surroundings. Food will be prepared by local families so they have some profit of tourism to! No alcohol, but you are free of bring it yourself. Evening Village tour with shelton on his Tuk Tuk visiting a pineapple plantations,brick making and a coconut coir factory. Coir fiber has the highest strength and durability of any readily-available natural fiber and use for making a variety of products including products for protecting and improving natural resources. Coir is the fiber processed from coconut husks that have been cured in water. This abundant natural resource is a by-product of the coconut industry.

Day 2
 2 nd April - Horakelle / Ratnapura Gem Pit / Mirissa

101 Km Southeast of Colombo, Ratnapura is also the gateway to the hill country from the Southern plains. The scenic route takes you passing paddy fields, rubber plantations and tea estates. Sri Lanka has produced three of the world’s largest blue sapphires, including the “Blue Belle of Asia”‘ (which adorned the British crown and holds the world record for any Sapphire sold at an auction); as well as the ‘Star of India’, displayed at the New York Museum of Natural History. A visit to one of the museums or many gem workshops will give you the opportunity to see a variety of precious stone, such as rubies, sapphires, cat’s eyes, alexandrites, aquamarines, tourmalines, spinels, topaz, garnets, amethyst, zircons etc. You will  also visit one of the gem mines which belongs to a freind of mine where you may go down the pit to find some gems only if you are lucky. Proceed further to Mirissa towards the south western coast.

Day 3
 3 rd April -  Mirissa / Whale Watching / Sunset Cruise / Mirissa

Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is one of the most exciting water activities you can do in Sri Lanka during your holiday. 
Mirissa is the best place to start your whale and dolphin watching tour in Sri Lanka. 
In warm Indian ocean you can see Blue whales, Bryde´s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales, sometimes Killer whales, and Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso's dolphins and Striped dolphins. Sometimes you can see turtles and various fish species, for example Bluefin tuna and flying fish. Our boat leaves from Mirissa harbor at 7:00 o´clock in the morning. We should be in the harbor at 6:30-6:45am.
The duration of the tour is 3-5 hours (depends on spotting of whales and wish of our passengers). Afternoons is the ocean usually rough and not suitable for whale watching. The best time  in the southern coast is between Oct and May.

Day 4 & 5
4 th & 5 th April -  Mirissa / Colombo / Leopard Safari  / Wilpattu

Morning leave to Wilpattu National Park via Colombo. Arrive for the afternoon Safari in Wilpattu for Leopard spotting. Wilpattu park is renowned for being ideal for spotting leopards. The journey in the park itself is an exciting experience, bringing your inner daring explorer. The majority of leopard spotting in the park has been recorded near its water basins or villas. Thus take part in a leopard safari to catch a glimpse of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) has been classified as endangered by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and is a leopard subspecies that is native to Sri Lanka. The population of leopards which is not larger than a mere 250 animals is declining due to a number of reasons which includes poaching and also the human-leopard conflict.Main characteristics of the leopard include the rusty yellow coat with dark spots. The average weight of a male is 170 lb and a female is close to 64 lb. The tail of the leopard is longer than half of its body length when measured from head to tail. The shoulder height is about 45 to 80 cm. Their ability to climb trees comes with the strong muscles that are attached to the scapula. The males are at least 30% larger than females while mature males are supposed to have broad and larger heads. This Sri Lankan subspecies of leopard can be named as the largest subspecies of leopard in the world.

Day 6
6 th  April -   Wilpattu / Cooking Lessons / Sigiriya / Habarana

Morning leave to Sigiriya . We visit a farmer today close to Sigiriya Rock and will cook the lunch together with typical Sri Lankan vegetables. Afternoon climb Sigiriya Rock. Rising 200 meters vertically from the flat pains, Sigiriya Rock provides you with one of the most dramatic sites in Sri Lanka. Top of this rock contains ruins of an ancient palace complex, built during the reign of King Kasyapa (477AD – 495 AD) and surrounding rock is the Royal Garden. It is one of the 7 world heritage sites in Sri Lanka and is one of it’s most popular tourist destinations.
The Sigiriya site consists of a 200 meter tall granite rock, whose sides are so steep that at some points the top overhangs the base. Ruins of various chambers, stairways and pools can be seen at the top of this rock. There is a stone stairway leading from the base to the top of the mountain. About half way to the top, there is a giant pair of lions paws which is in fact are the remains of a huge head of a lion whose open mouth served as the entrance to the royal palace. Surrounding the palace complex are the ruins of a garden complex consisting of two moats and various pools, some with water fountains still functioning after 1500 years.

Day 7
7 th  April -  Habarana / Village Tour on 4 x 4 / Minneriya National Park / Habarana

​Morning after breakfast start the village tour on a 4 x 4 jeep to experience Traditional Folklore Village Dancing Lessons with Sachini is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes. Sachini with her students and together with the participation of the guests will teach simple movements of  traditional dances for 30 minutes.  She is an expert for Vannama folkore dancing which is her most favored dance of the Kandyan dance style where the lyrics that are sung are in tune with the movements of the dancer. Next visit a blacksmith in a local village who will make a sickle which is used to harvest rice. As local villager’s prefer knives made by blacksmith and not imported knives for their daily work.Proceed further to visit a pottery village to see traditional method how cooking clay pots are made. This industry is more a family based venture, which is believed to be contributing to the relaxed and peaceful family environment, its all about the unity of the villagers who are the key partners of this venture. This village is well-known for high quality pots. Return to habarana for lunch prepared with fresh vegetables and a main dish. or dinner for the afternoon tour. Evening leave to Minneriya National Park to spot wild elephants in small herds during this period.
Return to Elephant Watch Hut Habarana.
